General Meetings every fourth Thursday of the month at 7:30PM at the Apollo Beach Recreation Center.
SOBAC celebrated its fourth anniversary at the Apollo Beach Recreation Center at our August 2003 general meeting. Many good friends and dedicated members attended sharing pride in SOBAC's accomplishments.
Our organization was awarded Hillsborough County's 2002 "Ellsworth G.Simmons Good Governmental Award". Our citizen based organization brought concerns before the public about the environmental impact of building the first and largest desalination plant in the Northern Hemisphere on our fragile Tampa Bay Estuary at the Big Bend TECO Plant Apollo Beach.
Our actions help to create community awareness of environmental issues directly affecting clean water, clean air and clean land in our region.
